Since the Galaxy 24 phones were launched on January 16, 2024, the Galaxy S25 series will likely be released around a year later. Most reliable sources, including South Korea’s Financial News, are predicting an Unpacked event on January 22, 2025, with a possible release date of February 7.

The Galaxy S25 Slim is not yet known when it will launch, or whether it will arrive at the same time as the other three devices. The full launch may happen months after a glimpse in January. Analysts have suggested a release window of April, May, or June in the second half of 2025.

The date of the Unpacked event on January 22, 2025, has been confirmed by a promotional poster posted online. There are four phone corner types mentioned in the poster, suggesting that the Slim model will be showcased at this event, even if it’s not available right away.

Samsung Galaxy S25: 4 Different Models

Galaxy S25 will begin with the standard S25 model, which despite having a faster Snapdragon chip, is unlikely to undergo significant changes. There are likely to be only minor changes to the camera lens, so the screen size will remain at 6.2 inches. The Galaxy S25 will feature a triple-lens camera setup, including a 50-megapixel, 10-plus megapixel, and 12-plus megapixel lens. Similar to the Galaxy S24, it will also support 3x optical zoom.

The same applies to the Galaxy S25 Plus. Aside from the Snapdragon chip and the potential increase in RAM to 12GB, there won’t be many other upgrades. It is generally expected that the screen size will stay at 6.7 inches, and the rear camera will be similar to that of the standard S25 model. Some leaked images of this model have also been circulating online.

There are expected to be more changes in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to rumours, its corners will be rounded more, the bezels will be thinner, and the previous triple lens setup’s ultra-wide camera will be upgraded from 12MP to 50MP. There may also be an option to upgrade to 16GB RAM, although the screen size is expected to remain 6.8 inches. Moreover, this model will have a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Aside from being slimmer than other Galaxy S25 models, the Galaxy S25 Slim should also offer a better camera than the original Galaxy S25. In addition to the Snapdragon 8 AirLED processor, more details about this model are still unknown.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Other Specs and Features

The Galaxy S25 phones will be similar to the Galaxy S24 model in terms of design. There may not be an increase in battery capacity, and the charging speed is likely to remain the same. However, optimization could extend battery life.

Some rumours are circulating about the new phone colours, and they mostly seem to be the same as those seen before, with possible new additions like blue, white, and cream. However, it’s unclear how these will differ from the Galaxy S24 series until we see them in reality.

Samsung might introduce the new One UI 7.0, based on Android 15, along with the Galaxy S25 phones. This software is currently in beta testing, and as expected, it will include new AI features such as real-time transcription, along with some design changes to the interface.

In short, we have a pretty good idea about the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, though the final confirmation will come when these models are launched. While no major upgrades are expected, it seems that some suitable changes are being made, and perhaps a fourth model might also be included.
