How to easily prevent the iPhone screen from Auto Lock by adjusting the settings.
Are you tired of your iPhone screen turning off when you’re reading or working? This guide will show you how to prevent the iPhone screen from auto-locking. By adjusting your Auto-Lock settings or using Focus mode, you can keep your screen on as long as you need it without interruption. Follow these simple steps to maintain your screen’s activity.
How to Disable Auto-Lock on an iPhone
The reason your iPhone screen dims and turns off is because of a feature called Auto-Lock. This feature automatically puts your iPhone into sleep mode after a set amount of time, which saves battery life. The screen brightness is reduced to half for two-thirds of the set amount of time to help the battery last longer. But sometimes this feature seems unnecessary, especially when you’re busy studying or doing something important.
To prevent the iPhone screen from Auto Lock, you’ll need to turn this feature off. First, open Settings on your iPhone. If you can’t find the app on your device, use Apple’s built-in Spotlight search (type “Settings”) to swipe down from the centre of the home screen. Then, find the Auto-Lock option in Settings and change its settings to your liking. That way, your screen will stay on for as long as you want.
Tap “Display & Brightness.”
Scroll down and tap “Auto-Lock.”
Under the Auto-Lock settings, you’ll see a list of time options. These determine how long your iPhone’s screen will stay on before it turns off and goes into lock mode. Since we want to turn the setting off completely, select “Never.”
Now, whenever you wake your iPhone, its screen will stay awake, and the device will not lock until you instruct it to press the side button.
If you continue to have problems with the screen dimming even after disabling Auto-Lock, it may be because Auto-Brightness is enabled. You can turn off the “Auto-Brightness” option on your iPhone by turning off “Auto-Brightness” at the bottom of the page under Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size.

Note: If you have Low Power Mode enabled, Auto-Lock will be set to “30 seconds”, and you won’t be able to tap the option to change it. To change it, first disable Low Power Mode under Settings > Battery.
Re-enable Auto-Lock for Your iPhone Screen Later
While there are some benefits to turning off the Auto-Lock feature, there are also some drawbacks. The most obvious disadvantage is battery life. If you leave your screen on all the time, your iPhone will drain its battery faster because the iPhone screen is one of the biggest battery drainers.
The second disadvantage to prevent the iPhone screen from Auto Lock is related to security: if you leave your iPhone on and it doesn’t automatically lock, anyone can use it. Auto-Lock is a good security feature so that when you leave your unlocked iPhone somewhere, it will automatically lock, and no one will be able to use it.

Also, if you want to save battery but still want to turn the Auto-Lock feature back on, you can choose a specific time so that the screen automatically turns off after a set amount of time. This way, you’ll be able to save battery and maintain security. Just remember that when you turn off this feature, turn Auto-Lock back on after use.
